Blue Gold Parrot, this is a parrot which as a beautifully coloured plumage, they are well known for this distinctive
plumage and for their size and large beaks. The Blue and Gold Parrot is a member of the Macaw group of parrots, they are large and magnificent and can reach up to 84cm long and can weigh up to 1300g.They have blue wings and a blue tail and their underparts are golden with a green cap on their heads. Their strong beaks are great for crushing nuts, and these parrots do have the ability to talk, they are intelligent and loving and can make good companions. The Blue and Golden Parrot are known to make loud noises and will even scream, but don’t worry this is just a natural part of their behaviour. They need to be able to chew as much as they want to (watch out for your furniture though) and they need toys to keep them occupied and busy, there are a lot of toys and accessories which you can buy. Always make sure that there cage is a good size and that there wings when outstretched do not touch the sides of there age. They need a good diet of seeds, nuts, fruit buds and also small pieces of fruit and vegetables can be given as treats, apples, grapes and carrots are the usual favourites, but you must never feed a parrot chocolate, lettuce, avocado or any sweets ,these can be very harmful for your parrot. A daily change of water is a must, parrots like a good preening ritual and like to bathe, either a shallow dish of water or a bird bath is suitable. All parrots need regular excercise so attaching some horizontal climbing bars to the outside of your parrots cage is a good idea, If you are letting your parrot out of its cage please make sure that all your doors and windows are closed.
