Emerald Tree
Emerald Tree Boa Snake, these species of snake can grow up to six to seven feet in length there are two varieties of Emerald Tree Boa Snake the Suriname and the Amazon,in apperance both are yellow- green with white markings on them.
These are a truly stunning species of snake but they do have reputation for being a hard snake to keep, this is due to the boas problem with regurgitation and has a poor temper. In the wild the Emerald Tree Boa Snakes like to climb trees so having a tall enclosure with some sort of branches/limbs to climb is a must. Their large enclosure must be fully waterproof as a high level of humidity needs to be maintained.
Newspaper could be used as a substrate but the ink could cause a problem with your boa, so a substarte that retains moisture would be a better choice as this will help with the humidity.
You can easily tell when you have a happy Emerald Tree Boa Snake, as they coil themselves up on a branch tightly. This species of snake does not require a lot of feeding, for the young it is recommened that they are fed about once every ten days and for adults feed about once a month.
