Banded Brown Crickets

At Appleton Exotics, we prioritize the health and well-being of your pets. We strive to offer you a wide variety of the best food options for your beloved reptile or amphibian. Our range of Banded Brown Crickets (Gryllodes Sigillatus) are an excellent food source for your reptiles and amphibians.

Advantages

Banded Brown Crickets may be smaller than other species of cricket but they make a great meal for most reptiles or amphibians. When compared to the European house brown crickets, the banded brown crickets were found to have a longer life span. Making them a great choice for those who have fewer insect eating pets. They can easily live up to twice as long as other crickets! Banded Crickets are much more forgiving of improper care, and have a higher tolerance of a wider range of temperature and humidity conditions compared to European House Crickets.

Nutrition

Protein: Crickets are protein powerhouses, making them a fantastic source of this essential nutrient. Banded brown crickets contain approximately 20-21 grams of protein per 100 grams. Protein is crucial for the growth, development, and maintenance of muscle tissues in exotic animals.

Fat: Banded brown crickets have a moderate fat content, which is beneficial for providing energy to your exotic pets. They contain around 6-7 grams of fat per 100 grams, ensuring a balanced nutritional profile without excessive fat intake.

Fiber: These crickets offer a good amount of dietary fiber, promoting healthy digestion in exotic animals. They typically contain about 3-4 grams of fiber per 100 grams, aiding in proper gut function and preventing digestive issues.

Vitamins and Minerals: Banded brown crickets are rich in various vitamins and minerals, contributing to the overall well-being of exotic animals. They provide essential vitamins such as vitamin B12, vitamin A, vitamin E, and minerals like calcium, iron, and zinc. These nutrients support immune function, promote healthy skin and coat, and contribute to overall vitality.

It’s important to note that the exact nutritional composition of banded brown crickets may vary slightly depending on their diet and environmental conditions. However, they generally offer a well-rounded nutritional profile suitable for many exotic animals.
